IMPORTANT UPDATE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2025
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Reserve Board jointly adjusted threshold amounts for inflation relating to the availability of accountholder funds. These Regulation CC changes include the minimum amount of funds deposited that financial institutions must make available for withdrawal by the beginning of the next business day for certain check deposits, as well as the amount of funds deposited by certain checks in new accounts that are subject to next-day availability.
What is Reg CC and Why Does it Matter?
Reg CC aims to speed up the check-clearing process and ensure customers have timely access to their deposited funds. It sets specific timeframes for when funds must be made available, depending on the type of deposit (cash, checks, electronic transfers) and the location of the paying bank.
The chart below lists the inflation-adjusted dollar thresholds for Reg CC funds availability requirements. The changes are effective July 1, 2025.
Funds Availability Policy – Change In Terms
Effective July 1, 2025, Your Ability to Withdraw Funds Policy will change to increase the amount available from checks that are placed on hold.
Minimum Amount from Deposit: $275
Cash Withdrawal Amount: $275/$550
New Account Amount: $6,725
Large-Deposit Threshold: $6,725
Repeatedly Overdrawn Threshold: $6,725
Why did this change?
Due to the Expedited Funds Availability Act for inflation approved in 2020, the policies and regulations set forth by the Federal Reserve and the CFPB will be adjusted every 5 years.
Here’s what you need to know:
Checks you deposit: The first $275 will be available the next business day. The rest will be available on the second business day.
Example: If you deposit a $700 check on Monday, $275 will be available on Tuesday, and the remaining $425 on Wednesday.
Cash withdrawals from deposits: You can withdraw up to $275 in cash on the same business day as your deposit.
Larger check deposits: If you deposit checks totaling more than $6,725 in one day, the amount over $6,725 may take up to nine business days to be fully available.
Electronic deposits (direct deposit, wires, etc.): Funds will be available on the next business day.
Government & cashier’s checks: The first $6,725 will be available the next business day if certain conditions are met (e.g., the check is payable to you). Any amount over this limit will be available on the ninth business day.

The promotion of good account management is important to us but we also understand the unexpected can happen. For those times we offer several options to protect your account from overdrafts.
All personal checking accounts may qualify for Signature Bank’s Overdraft Privilege service.
If you have Overdraft Privilege we will pay overdraft items presented against your account up to the overdraft limit assigned. You will be charged the normal per item charge as set forth in our current fee schedule, currently $30.00 — whether the item overdraws the account or is returned. Depending on the number of items presented against your account, more than one overdraft fee may be charged against your account each day (maximum of 5). For example if you have 3 checks (or other debits) that are presented in one day and your Overdraft Privilege is used to pay two of them, the charge to you would be 2 items at $30.00 each for a total of $60.00. An insufficient funds item may be created by check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or debit card transaction (if you chose to opt in to this service), or other electronic means. Any insufficient funds fees charged, as well as the amount of the overdraft item(s), will be subtracted from the Overdraft Privilege limit assigned to your account.
Overdrafts must be resolved as soon as possible. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay an item if your account is not in good standing or you are not making regular deposits.
Free Checking Accounts will be eligible for overdraft protection after 60 days.
Overdraft Privilege is meant to cover an occasional overdraft and not to be used as an extension of credit. Please remember you may opt out of Overdraft Privilege at any time.
You can link your checking account to another account with Signature Bank. Here’s what occurs: if the account linked for overdraft protection does not have enough funds to cover the overdraft, we will transfer the funds needed (provided they are available) from your linked “funding account.” This option is less expensive than other overdraft options we offer. There is no setup fee for the service and the cost is a minimal $7 per transfer.
A personal line of credit may be available for qualified borrowers. Fees will apply. Please ask to speak to a loan officer if you would like to complete a loan application.
Subject to credit approval. Property and flood insurance is required. Loans and lines of credit may be variable, and if so, may be based upon Signature Bank Prime. Any home equity lines of credit that are variable will be based on WSJP.
Signature Bank of Arkansas complies with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. This Act requires banks to prohibit commercial customers from receiving deposits from illegal online gambling sites.
